DIY Headboard with Prettypegs Fluted Panels

Transforming your bedroom into a personalized oasis is easier than you might think. If you're a fan of DIY projects and love the idea of creating something unique, then making your own headboard using Prettypegs fluted panels designed for the Ivar cabinet could be the perfect weekend project. This easy IKEA Hack not only adds a touch of stylish functionality to your space but also allows you to engage in a creative endeavor that results in a cozy and inviting bedroom.

Materials You’ll Need:

• Prettypegs fluted panels for the Ivar cabinet. One set of Panels covers 75 cm so make sure you measure how many panels you need.

• Wood beams to fasten the panels to

• Wooden plank for the top shelf

• Screws and glue

• Paint - we used Klint Colours - Santa Fe

Step-by-Step Guide to Building Your Bed Frame:

1. Prepare Your Space and Materials: Before you start, make sure you have all your materials ready. It's important to measure your space to fit the bed frame perfectly in your bedroom.

2. Install the Wooden Beams: Our founder, Jana, began by securing three wooden beams to the wall. These beams will support the fluted panels and ensure that everything stays firmly in place. Use a level to make sure your beams are straight before securing them.

3. Attach the Fluted Panels: Once your beams are in place, it's time to attach the Prettypegs fluted panels. Apply a strong wooden glue to the back of each panel and press them against the beams. Allow adequate time for the glue to dry fully.

4. Add the Top Shelf: After your panels are set, attach a wooden plank on top using screws. This not only adds to the stability of your bed frame but also provides a charming shelf space for frames, plants, and other cute accessories.

5. Paint Your Creation: To truly make this bed frame your own, paint it in your favorite color. Jana chose the rich terracotta hue of Klint Colours' Santa Fe, which adds a warm and relaxing feel to the bedroom.

6. Install Bed Legs and Assemble the Bed: With the frame ready, attach the Prettypegs Otto 100 bed legs in white. These stylish legs are not only functional but also add a modern touch to your bed frame.

7. Integrate Additional Storage: To maximize space, Jana used IKEA Pax to build wardrobes around the bed, and Bestå cabinets atop the bed frame for extra storage. This is optional but is a good way to add storage.

Final Touches:

Now that your headboard is complete, it's time to add the final (and perhaps most fun?) touch - make the bed with your finest linens and style it with the shelf using your finest accessories.

Elevate the Whole with Unique Bed Legs: To add another personal touch to the bedroom, Jana has added the Otto 100 bed legs.

Integrate Additional Storage: To maximize space, Jana built a wardrobe wall using IKEA Pax around the bed and Bestå above. This is a great way to add storage. For the wardrobes, Jana used Majken handles in natural ash to add that extra something.
