Ten years ago, Jana and Micke were in search of a new sofa. They scanned the market and eventually concluded that Ikea had the modern design they were looking for. However, they stumbled upon a detail.
"The sofa legs screamed mass production! They felt so non-unique and impersonal," says Jana.
The couple began searching for furniture legs to buy separately, but they couldn't find anything to replace the mass-produced ones. So, Jana, who was a former organizational consultant, and Micke, an art director, decided to produce customized legs for Ikea furniture and Prettypegs was born!

Modified furniture and Ikea hacks are, of course, essential features in Jana's own home. She lives in a three bedroom apartment in Norra Djurgårdsstaden in Stockholm.
After eight years in the apartment, it's still in constant transformation. "I'm always doing something and always want to change what I have, I can't help it.

"It's amazing how much storage space the IKEA Bestå unit has, and it's so versatile – you can use it as a TV stand, bookshelf, or even a bar!", says Jana.
The Prettypegs Folke tall legs give it a sleek, modern look, and the Bodil knobs in black steel add the perfect finishing touch.

The IKEA kitchen has new doors from Järfälla kitchen painted in graphite green in the NCS color S5005-G50Y. Knobs and handles are another ongoing project, and Jana doesn't know how many times she's changed them so far.
"I chose the green color for the doors because I wanted color but nothing too flashy. The green feels soothing and cozy," she says.

Jana's bedroom is also painted in a soothing green and she has a built-in storage solution with IKEA's Pax wardrobes, painted in the same green for a coherent look. It creates a cozy feel and of course she added some Prettypegs handles to the wardrobes and Otto bed feet that bindes the decor together.

Another clever way to use the Ivar panels is by transforming the Ivar cabinet—what these panels were originally designed for—into a stylish bed linen storage solution. When painted in a matching color, it seamlessly blends into the space, while the ribbed panels add a subtle yet elegant texture, elevating the overall design.
Jana's daughter Carla got to choose her own colors and it ended up being two shades of blue that meet in a painted-in list.
" I thought it added something fun but still maintained a calm expression in the room," Jana explains.
The bed is from IKEA with Prettypegs Dagmar 230 legs to add some extra storage underneath. Headboard is from a previous collaaboration together with the talented creatives at Mrs Mighetto.
